The rumor mill has it that the controversial Oaksterdam University in Atwater Village has left for good – and while we haven’t confirmed anything yet, it looks like the location has been taken over for at least a few days the filming of a Law and Order: Los Angeles episode.

Garden Avenue at Glendale Blvd.
The Oaksterdam University in Atwater Village has been an unwelcome addition to some in the neighborhood since it opened earlier this year, and has more recently been part of some controversy when it was banned from holding classes at next-door neighbor Jubilee (an arrangement that actually helped the partially state funded adult day-care center pay its rent).
The building has been staged to look like a political campaign office with giant “Yes on 128″ fake signs. One big banner out front, however, is confusing as it announces the building is “for lease” followed by a real phone number (non-Hollywood 555-type of phone number).
The filming also took place just around the corner on Garden Avenue, where a security guard told me they were filming at one of the houses along that block.
