After the tragic events in Arizona, Senator Barbara Boxer’s office has canceled its mobile office visit to the Atwater Village Branch Library on Wednesday, January 12.
The visit, planned for 2:30-4:30 pm, was designed to provide assistance with matters involving the Veterans Administration, Social Security Administration, or any other federal agency. The office sent out the following email earlier today:
Dear Friend:
Following the recent tragic events in Arizona, I have decided to postpone my mobile office hours, originally scheduled at the Atwater Village Branch Library in Los Angeles on January 12th, until my office has had the opportunity to consult with the U.S. Capitol Police regarding security measures that should be taken to ensure the safety of my staff and constituents at events in California.
In the meantime, I encourage you to contact my Los Angeles office at 213-894-5000 if you need assistance with a federal agency, or would like to talk to the member of the staff regarding your views on issues of importance to you.
Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
