Atwater Village Farm Market opening soon – very soon!

Good news for Atwater Village lovers, farm lovers, healthy eating lovers, and lovers of life all around – Atwater Village Farm has set a grand opening date! And it’s in just TWO weeks!!

Friday, December 16 is the big day for resident and owner Piper Goldstein, who has been working extremely hard to get the farm-to-table store concept under way since earlier this year. They had some considerable setbacks during renovations of the building, but got the green light from the health department at the end of November.

If you’ve missed some of the mixers and other events held at Atwater Village Farm, you’ll have your chance to take a look inside when they open officially on Friday, December 16. After that, their hours will be seven days a week from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Be aware they’ll be closed over some of the holidays, including Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. But they are open Christmas Even from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm if you need anything.

We’re really looking forward to the final product and having a chance to shop for local produce every day of the week!

Atwater Village Farm Market is located at 3224 Glendale Blvd., at the corner of Glendale and Larga.

Atwater Village Farm bake sale on Sunday

Atwater Village Farm is having a Bake Sale tomorrow, Sunday, June 26 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at their store! Located at 3224 Glendale Blvd., the former pharmacy retail space promises an incredible concept for the neighborhood – a farm-to-table grocer open daily for all your fresh produce and even coffee needs.

Click here to read about the Farm from our previous post announcing the open house in May.

We also got to shoot some photos at the open house, which you can check out below:

Atwater Village Farm could also really use the help and support of the neighborhood – in order to launch in October, they are raising “Kickstarter” money to get things going. You can donate to the great cause by clicking here. Every little bit counts!

Atwater Village Farm Market open house on Sunday!

Once a pharmacy, the retail space on the corner of Glendale Boulevard and Larga has remained empty for quite some time now. Thankfully, not only has the space been filled, but it’s looking to be a really great place!

Atwater Village Farm Market is a great concept, one that’s been popping up around Los Angeles but isn’t very common for this side of town. Promising farm-to-table market in, you guessed it, Atwater Village. While we don’t have all the details about the market itself yet, we are attending an open house tomorrow, Sunday, May 1 from noon to 4:00 pm to meet the owners and learn more about what they’re doing. (You can also check out the website, which was down earlier today but looks to be back up, and learn more about the market.)

According to the Facebook event page, we know that owner “Farmer Piper” will be at hand to meet neighbors and discuss the concept. We don’t think the store will be “open” officially, but this open house is more of an opportunity to see how we can all contribute to the opening of a sustainable, locally owned market in Atwater. There will also be treats – coffee by local roaster Cafecito Organic Coffee and pastries by local baker Susina.

This is a great idea, and hope it will be successful!

P.S. We also know of a farm-to-table restaurant opening at Atwater Village Crossing called ATX Eatery opening sometime soon (the website says Spring 2011). Though the new restaurant is supposed to have an on-site linear farm, perhaps they will work together! (If they aren’t already!)
